Koh Chang’s most convenient northern visitor zone, combining White Sand Beach’s developed resort strip with Klong Son, arrival-side geography and the island’s easiest access to ferries and practical services.
WHY THIS AREA MATTERS
White Sand Beach & North is one of Thailand4U’s four public traveller catchments on Koh Chang.
It groups places that make practical sense together for accommodation, food, sightseeing and transport without pretending they are one official district.
MAIN VISITOR POCKETS
- White Sand Beach / Hat Sai Khao
- Klong Son
- northern ferry-arrival side
FOOD
White Sand Beach has one of Koh Chang’s broadest concentrations of restaurants, beachfront dining, cafés and easy evening food.
EVENINGS
Evenings are lively by Koh Chang standards, with bars, live music and casual drinking, but the area is still more resort-oriented than party-driven.
GETTING AROUND
Songthaews, taxis, scooters for experienced riders and ferry transfers.
Walking is useful only inside individual beach or village pockets. Koh Chang’s hills and distances make cross-area walking unrealistic.
WHO THIS AREA SUITS
Best for: First-time convenience, beach resorts and easy island access.
Suggested stay: 3–5 nights.
PRACTICAL NOTES
- Best choice for a short first visit or easy ferry logistics.
- Klong Son is quieter than White Sand Beach.
- The mainland ferry piers and Trat Airport are external connections, not part of the Koh Chang area.
- Check exact hotel position because the northern catchment is broad.
Choose White Sand Beach & North because its daily rhythm fits the trip you want, not because one part of Koh Chang is universally better than another.
