Thailand4U ("Thailand4U", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use:

• the Thailand4U Android application ("the App"), and
• the Thailand4U website at https://thailand4u.net ("the Website").

Thailand4U is designed to work without user accounts, advertising profiles, or unnecessary collection of personal information.

2. Information Thailand4U Does Not Directly Collect

Thailand4U does not provide user accounts and does not ask you to create a profile.

We do not intentionally collect or store:

• your name
• home address
• telephone number
• email address, unless you voluntarily contact us
• contacts or address book
• photos or files
• payment information
• precise GPS location
• advertising identifiers for behavioural advertising

Thailand4U does not use advertising SDKs and does not sell personal information.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles or track you across unrelated apps or websites.

Precise Location

The App does not request access to your device's GPS or precise location.

Some Thailand4U features use coordinates belonging to destinations, venues, or places contained in our travel data. These coordinates describe the place being viewed and are not obtained from your device's GPS.

Hosting and network providers may derive an approximate city or country from an IP address as part of normal internet service operation.

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The App allows you to save information for your own use.

This may include:

• Favorites: Saved travel venues and items.
• Travel Planner: Custom itineraries, places, and notes.
• Packing List: Checklists and custom items.
• Bingo Progress: Exploration milestones.

This information is stored locally on your device.

Thailand4U does not upload this locally stored planner or preference information to our servers.

You can remove locally stored App data at any time by:

• deleting items within the App where that option is available,
• clearing Thailand4U's App storage in Android settings, or
• uninstalling the App.

4. Technical Data Required to Provide the Service

Like most internet-based services, some technical information is processed automatically when the App or Website communicates with hosting or data providers.

This may include:

• IP address
• date and time of a request
• browser or device type
• operating system or App version
• requested page, API endpoint, or resource
• basic diagnostic, security, or network information
• approximate location derived from an IP address

Thailand4U does not use this technical information to create personal advertising profiles.

Website Hosting

The Website is hosted using Vercel.

Vercel may process technical information such as IP addresses, request logs, browser or device information, and approximate location derived from IP addresses in order to deliver, secure, monitor, and maintain its hosting services.

Website Analytics

Thailand4U uses Vercel Web Analytics on the Website (https://thailand4u.net) to understand website traffic, measure page engagement, and improve our travel guides and tools.

Vercel Web Analytics provides aggregated and statistical information such as:

• visits and visitor estimates
• page views and specific pages or routes viewed
• referring websites or search engines
• approximate country or regional location derived from network information
• browser type and operating system
• device category and technical screen information

Vercel Web Analytics is a first-party analytics service that does not rely on traditional cross-site advertising cookies. It is not used by Thailand4U for behavioural advertising, and we do not use analytics data to build advertising profiles or track individuals across unrelated services. No precise GPS location is collected by Thailand4U through Web Analytics.

Vercel acts as a platform service provider involved in processing the relevant website traffic and analytics information on our behalf. If you have questions regarding website analytics and privacy, contact info@thailand4u.net.

Android Application (No Analytics)

The Thailand4U Android application does not use Vercel Web Analytics, third-party analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, or telemetry libraries.

5. Firebase and Content Delivery

The App retrieves travel information from Google Cloud Firestore, a Firebase / Google Cloud service.

When the App requests content, Google may process technical information necessary to provide and secure the service.

Thailand4U does not use Firestore to maintain user accounts or store the local Favorites, Travel Planner, Packing List, or Bingo Progress described above.

Google processes Firebase customer data under its own applicable privacy, security, and data-processing terms.

6. Third-Party Services

Certain Thailand4U features use external services.

Maps and Directions

When you choose to open a location or directions, Thailand4U may launch an external mapping application such as Google Maps using the coordinates of the selected place.

Once the external application or website opens, its own privacy policy and terms apply.

Currency Information

Thailand4U may request exchange-rate information from:

api.frankfurter.dev

The Frankfurter public API states that the API itself does not collect personal data, although its public infrastructure uses Cloudflare, which may process basic technical information required to provide and protect the service.

Weather Information

Thailand4U may request weather information from:

api.open-meteo.com

Weather requests may contain the coordinates of the Thailand destination for which weather is being requested.

These are destination coordinates and are not obtained from your device's GPS.

Open-Meteo states that its service may process technical log information such as IP addresses and requested coordinates for operational, security, and troubleshooting purposes.

Email Contact

If you choose to contact Thailand4U, your device's email application may be opened.

Thailand4U only receives the information that you voluntarily include in your message, such as your email address, name, message content, and any attachments you choose to send.

7. How Information Is Used

Where technical, analytics, or contact information is processed, it is used only for purposes such as:

• delivering the Website or App content you request
• understanding website traffic and improving the Website
• providing weather or currency information
• preventing abuse or technical attacks
• maintaining service reliability and security
• diagnosing technical problems
• responding to messages or support requests
• complying with applicable legal obligations

Thailand4U does not use personal information for behavioural advertising.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Data Stored on Your Device

Locally stored App data remains on your device until you delete it, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App.

Thailand4U cannot remotely access or delete this local data because it is not stored in a Thailand4U user account.

Emails and Direct Contact

If you contact Thailand4U by email, correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer your request, maintain relevant support records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.

Messages that are no longer required may be deleted.

Technical Service Logs

Thailand4U does not maintain a user-profile database containing technical request logs.

Infrastructure providers may retain technical logs according to their own retention policies.

For example, Open-Meteo currently states that individual API log files are deleted after 90 days.

9. Security

Thailand4U follows a data-minimisation approach and avoids collecting personal information that is not needed for the service.

Network communication with the services described in this policy uses secure HTTPS connections.

Local planner and preference data is kept on the user's device rather than in a Thailand4U user account.

Third-party infrastructure providers are responsible for the security of information processed within their own systems according to their applicable security and privacy terms.

No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Children's Privacy

Thailand4U does not knowingly solicit personal information from children.

The App does not require an account and does not ask users to provide their name, email address, precise location, or similar profile information.

If a child voluntarily contacts Thailand4U, any information provided will only be handled as necessary to respond appropriately and in accordance with applicable law.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to Thailand4U that should be deleted, please contact us.

11. International Data Processing

Thailand4U uses service providers that operate internationally.

Technical information may therefore be processed in countries outside the country in which you are located.

Where applicable, service providers are responsible for implementing appropriate safeguards for international transfers under their privacy and data-processing terms.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights concerning personal information relating to you.

These may include the right to:

• request access to personal information
• request correction of inaccurate information
• request deletion
• request restriction of processing
• object to certain processing
• receive certain information in a portable format
• lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority

Because Thailand4U does not maintain user accounts or a central database of personal user profiles, we may hold little or no personal information that can be associated with you directly.

Thailand4U does not use personal information for automated decision-making, credit decisions, profiling, or personalised advertising.
