Khon Kaen

Khon Kaen is one of Isan’s most important modern cities: a major university, commercial and transport hub with youthful energy, a strong food culture and a distinctly local rhythm and a nightlife scene built largely around local life rather than tourism. Around the city you will find lakes, temples, markets, malls and lively evening spots, while the wider province adds dinosaurs, silk traditions, dams and national parks. It is one of the easiest places to experience contemporary northeastern Thailand while keeping the convenience of a large city.
