KEY PLACES

  • Railay West
  • Railay East
  • Phra Nang Beach
  • climbing and cave areas

DAYTIME

Phra Nang Beach, limestone cliffs, climbing routes, caves and viewpoints are the defining experiences.

FOOD

Railay has a compact mix of resort restaurants, casual Thai food, cafés and beachside dining, with less variety than Ao Nang.

EVENINGS

Evenings are relaxed and mostly built around beach bars, small pubs and resort dining.

MOVING AROUND

Walking and longtail boats.

FIRST-TIME CHECKLIST

  • Railay is not connected to Ao Nang by a normal road for visitor access.
  • Boat conditions can affect arrivals and departures.
  • Pack lightly if transferring by longtail boat.
  • Respect tide, trail and climbing safety conditions.

GOOD LENGTH OF STAY

2–4 nights.

A good first stay in Railay is about matching the area’s strengths to your priorities rather than spending every day travelling to a different Krabi base.
