GETTING AROUND

Ferries at Thong Sala, taxis, songthaews and road connections across the island.

Walking is most useful within individual pockets rather than across the full area. When distances are longer, plan transport before going out rather than assuming you can easily walk back.

- This is one of the easiest bases if you plan to explore several coasts. - Check the exact Baan Tai hotel location because the corridor is spread out. - Major party dates can increase traffic even if you are not staying in Haad Rin. - Thong Sala is the most useful area for supplies and onward transport.

The strongest reason to choose Thong Sala & Baan Tai is not that it is objectively “best”. It is that its daily rhythm matches a specific kind of trip. Choose it when that rhythm fits what you actually want from Koh Phangan.
