CITY GUIDE
Koh Lipe is a compact island in Thailand’s far southern Andaman Sea, known for clear water, coral reefs and three main beaches, each with a different pace. Pattaya Beach is the busiest arrival and evening hub, Sunrise Beach stretches along the east with a calmer feel, and Sunset Beach is smaller and quieter. Walking Street links the island’s main visitor areas, while boat trips open up the wider Tarutao archipelago around Koh Adang, Koh Rawi and nearby snorkelling sites. Compact enough to cross on foot but rich enough for several slow days, Koh Lipe works best as a beach-first island with the sea at the centre of almost everything.
