Sukhumvit has one of Bangkok’s deepest dining scenes, ranging from street food and casual Thai restaurants to Japanese, international, fine dining and major mall food halls.

Nightlife is highly varied, from rooftop bars and cocktail venues to pubs, clubs and late-night entertainment. The exact atmosphere changes sharply from soi to soi.

WHAT TO SEE

Terminal 21, Benjakitti Park, major malls and the corridor’s neighbourhood dining and nightlife are more central to the area than traditional monument sightseeing.

GETTING AROUND

BTS Skytrain, MRT connections, taxis, ride-hailing and walking within individual sois.

Bangkok travel time depends as much on rail access and traffic as straight-line distance.

WHO THIS AREA SUITS

Best for: First-time convenience, dining, nightlife and BTS access.

Suggested stay: 3–6 nights.

- Use BTS whenever practical; road traffic can be severe. - Check the exact soi and nearest station before booking. - Nana, Asok, Phrom Phong, Thonglor and Ekkamai are subareas, not extra Bangkok top-level areas. - Do not assume all of Sukhumvit has the same nightlife character.
